Savage Grace (2007)

This examination of a famous scandal from the 1970s explores the relationship between Barbara Baekeland and her only son, Antony. Barbara, a lonely social climber unhappily married to the wealthy but remote plastics heir Brooks Baekeland, dotes on Antony, who is homosexual. As Barbara tries to "cure" Antony of his sexuality -- sometimes by seducing him herself -- the groundwork is laid for a murderous tragedy.

Amazing movie,all its contents were amazingly well done and premeditated. Is not a movie for everyone, since it is a very extreme film when it comes to sexual images and the like. If you enjoy drama, you would enjoy this. If you are easily disturbed by nudity and lets say incest.m I warn you, this is not a movie for you.

Julianne Moore deserves an Oscar nom for this. She is beautiful, manic, manipulative, mesmerizing and ultimately completely believable as an incestuous, pill-popping vamp. The movie is quite impenetrable, but that wasn't the point.

very clever and knowing depiction of upper crust society, unfortunately assumes a little too much knowledge of the viewer! but we get the idea later on that it's all about the intense and troubled relationship between mother, husband and son, that climaxes in an emotionally numbing incestuous finale. usual good form from Moore, but not a must-rewatch experience.
