I loved this movie. I loved the cast and the plot. All you haters out there are braindead. This was a great comedy from start to finish. It was something refreshing and different that can be appreciated by someone who is sick of all the over the top bullshit comedy movies.

** (out of four) A hit-and-miss comedy drama that mostly misses, but does offer some intense family interaction that most people can relate to on some level. The entire cast is quite good, especially Ben Schwartz and Michael C. Hall. They make the film watchable and help lift it when the script becomes overly sloppy. A dysfunctional family gather to celebrate the 70th birthday of their rich and domineering father. It doesn't look to be a good time since the youngest brother (Schwartz) has just written a "fictional" book that reveals the secrets of his family.

I think I was expecting more, but it wasn't bad. It was very humorous to watch the secrets come out and love-hate relationships that had developed between family members. I just felt like there was potential that the movie didn't really carry into a successful storyline. All in all, it was just a 79 minute movie about how dysfunctional doesn't mean they're not close.

A big cast movie about a dysfunctional family that follows the steps of other movies about dysfunctional families before it, without any deviation or twist. It tends to come short towards its end but overall a decent piece of light drama.
