Papa (2018)

A young man, Ben Freidman (Scott Wilson) raised by wealthy adoptive Jewish parents in Beverly Hills, decides that he is ready to finally meet his biological parents. He faces disappointment upon learning of the death of his biological mother. His biological father, meanwhile, resides in a psychiatric care unit.

Loved the film PAPA. It reaches into our deepest emotions and reminds us so much of the importance of family and how we all need to cherish our precious time together. The amazing star studded cast did an amazing performance on this must see movie.

We all loved this beautiful and delicious film. Heartwarming story with a great cast! We, our friends and family, went to see this film as a group and we all loved it. We cried, we laughed, and we cried again. It was also wonderful seeing this ensemble of very familiar award winning actors performing in roles that you have never seen them perform in before. It was worth it just to see this great cast act so well together on the big screen. Written, directed and produced by Danny Israely, a prolific multi-talented screenwriter, poet, singer, musician, playwrite and songwriter, this film is a grandslam for Danny, the entire cast and the crew that worked on it. Run, don't walk, and take your family and friends to see this film on the big screen. You won't be disappointed!!

This is a very enjoyable movie with some great acting especially by Paul Sorvino (Superb). We later found out that it was based on a true story which made it even better. The music and cinematography were excellent. It's a feel-good movie with internal ups and downs but all ends well. Go see.

This movie is a "Must Watch"! The story of a young man searching for his missing past is touching in itself but what makes it special from other "finding birth parent" tales is its parallel tale of the life of people we consider " mentally challenged". This is so very well displayed in the moving portrayal of 'Papa' by David Proval, who so realistically conveys every emotion of the character. The other residents and support staff of the home create a vivid 3-D image of what goes on. Our young protagonist asks a very important question, " Can someone mentally challenged still be smart", and the answer that comes through is a definite yes.( Also, the two love birds of the movie are charmers!) My " Kippah" off to the producers , directors, cast & staff for a wonderful and beautiful tale. I hope that we will see a middle-PG-13 version soon, so that middle and high schoolers can understand what love and care mean.
