On the Silver Globe (1989)

A small group of cosmic explorers, including a woman, leaves Earth to start a new civilization. They do not realize that within themselves they carry the end of their own dream. They die one by one, while their children revert to a primitive native culture, creating new myths and a new god.

This one got all messed up by the Polish gov't, right? Anyway, big chunks are not in the film, so you get a narration of what you should be seeing. This is a Zulawski film through and through, though. Its all me!

Striking (in parts) but exhausting and completely incomprehensible.

Wow, im the first to review this.... well... its weird, and thats an understatement. I swear, simply watching this movie will make you feel like you just took a bunch of acid... i couldn't even keep up. Its in russian (i think) but easy enough to keep up with, not that that helps. It is also surprisingly well done... Also, it's set on the moon... so why are people breathing and surviving on the a plant covered moon? well i think the script was wrote before they landed on the moon... So it was all imagination.. the only reason i gave it 4 stars is because ITS JUST TO LONG! I mean come on... i had a headache from trying to grasp what was happening...

I thought this was weird, and then the one eyed bird people with claws for arms showed up and tried to enslave mankind by raping our women. Then I had to redefine the parameters of "weird." Enjoyable in a nightmarish way.

The Silver Globe is among the strangest, most theatrical, most maddening films I've ever seen. It is a bleak, half-finished cosmic masterpiece that disparages mythology, civilization, and even story.
