One of my favourite novels which is probably unfilmable but Walter Salles does a pretty good job in capturing the conflict between unfettered hedonism versus domestic responsibility. The travels and adventures of Sal Paradise (Kerouac) and his friend Dean Moriarty as they criss- cross America in search of the experiences life has to offer. Riley and Hedlund have great chemistry together and Kirsten Dunst excels in her small but significant role. Slow burning but makes me want to read the book again

A snapshot of the nonconformist Beatniks of the 1950s who yearned for the freedom and pleasures of the open road.

Um road movie que captura perfeitamente o espÃrito da geração beat.

Finally the movie adaptation of the epic book by Jack Kerouac. Love the Beat Generation atmosphere kept throughout the film. Great cast. Love the narrative approach. The movie stays close to the novel that I read about 10 years ago.

Hedlund is a gritty revelation, desperate and magnetic. Dean's constant need for sex is understood as a sign of damage, part of the same compulsion that sends him all over America, bouncing between wives.
