The Winfield family moves into a new house in a small town in Indiana. Tomboy Marjorie Winfield begins a romance with William Sherman who lives across the street. wow umn just seen this movie 4 the 1st time n think that this is a good movie 2 watch.......its got a good cast of actors/actressess thorughout this movie.....i think that doris day, gordon macrae, billy gray, jack smith play good roles/parts thorughout this movie......i think that the director of this musical/drama/classics movie had done a good job of directing this movie because you never know what 2 expect throughout this movie....i think that doris day is brilliant thorughout this movie....i think that this is a good musical movie 2 watch its got a good cast thorughout this movie i think that this is a brilliant/classics movie 2 watch with a good cast

So many great scenes. My favorite is when the little brother turns her love letter in for his homework and has to read it aloud in class.

One of my favorite Doris Day/girl next door films that co-stars Gordon MacRae as her love interest and Leon Ames and Rosemary de Camp as her most endearing parents. This is just fun to watch no matter how many times I see it. Certainly one of her best; and it naturally features the famous song the movie takes it's title from. A delightful watch that makes one long for those days when life seemed so much simpler.
