Two million fish washed ashore. One thousand blackbirds dropped from the sky. On July 4, 2009 a deadly menace swept through the quaint seaside town of Claridge, Maryland, but the harrowing story of what happened that Independence Day has never been told—until now. The authorities believed they had buried the truth about the tragedy that claimed over 700 human lives. Now, three years later, a reporter has emerged with footage revealing the cover-up and an unimaginable killer: a mysterious parasitic outbreak. The bay offers a new take on a found footage flick and executed it perfectly. You continue watching telling yourself it's a movie but even reality won't stop you from feeling uneasy as the events unfold in front of you. Multiple stories span across this film and each with its own length and impact. The bay offers realistic horror with the fear that it could happen to you.

I tried watching The Notebook last night. I couldn't handle it. I would much prefer seeing people get eaten alive by enormous parasites :).

Probably one of the most frightening films I've seen in awhile. The concept is reasonable, though extraordinary, the execution is gruesome, and the found-footage feel gives it the realism that Contagion never fully realized. Yes, the acting is shoddy, and the whole thing has a government mistrust feel like a Syfy original, but the visceral experience alone is what makes this movie worthwhile.

I struggled with wanting to see and not wanting to see this film...The synopsis didn't catch right...But one I started watching I couldn't take my eyes always...Living near water this scared the "S" outta me...I recommend this film..
