Nothing Personal (2009)

Alone in her empty flat, from her window Anne observes the people passing by who nervously snatch up the personal belongings and pieces of furniture she has put out on the pavement. Her final gesture of taking a ring off her finger signals she is leaving her previous life in Holland behind. She goes to Ireland, where she chooses to lead a solitary, wandering existence, striding through the austere landscapes of Connemara. During her travels, she discovers a house that is home to a hermit, Martin.

A rural Irish film that isn't sentimental 'magical' tripe??! Begorrah t'was a Polish wan that made it. A beautiful film that I found lacking only because of its abrupt ending. I may come to accept that in time - otherwise it's almost perfect.

Watched it because I had nothing else to watch and quite enjoyed it. Not a lot is said but I suppose thats the point. Good to see Stephen Rae getting work outside of Neil Jordan films.

Filme interesante sobre el acercamiento de 'dos soledades', es decir, una holandesa errante y un ermitaÃ±o irlandes. Nothing Personal es una pelicula muy intima, quizas muy personal (desde el punto de vista de su directora Ursula Antoniak) pero que de una manera bastante precisa logra sacar a relucir toda una serie de emociones y sentimientos que solo son posibles descrubrirse en la quietud de la lejania o acaso con una compaÃ±ia minima. Las interpretaciones de ambos actores es bastante buena, ademas de la actitud en los dialogos, que estan muy bien manejados. El final es bastante sobrecogedor. Buena peli.
