Mumbai Meri Jaan (2008)

When a series of bombs explode in train stations throughout Mumbai, a disparate group of locals are affected in different ways. Thomas, who sells tea, meets Rupali, a reporter coping with the death of her fiancé. Meanwhile, Suresh, who is struggling with financial woes, begins to be overly suspect of all Muslims. For Sunil, a policeman working on the case, there is frustration at realizing his corrupt boss is still on the take.

After "Dombivali Fast", Nishikant Kamat strikes again with "Mumbai meri Jaan". Go and watch it in theatre.

Finally am glad to see someone stepping up and making something "not so commercial" and more that looks like reality. the "Dombivli Fast" fem Nishikant Kamat done it again, and this time with even better reach. Script of movie feels real and characters are well defined. Probably someone from Mumbai can relate to this movie more closely than others, regardless a real good piece of work by each and every actor. Right from "chai ki tapri" to "paanwala" to "the train"... every dialogs sounds real, with real common man language in city streets... finally ... "Aye-Dil hai mushkil jeena yahan Zara hatke zara bachke yeh hai bambai mei jaan"

I am glad someone finally made a movie like this one; documentary-style, superb acting, and a profound glance into the psyche of Mumbai after the train blasts; it was a moving and deeply thought-provoking film.
