I love the lead pair but I just can't ignore how thin the 'love story' was. I think the writer and director relied too heavily upon the fact that the actors are a known couple and so felt no need to establish any connection in the film itself. I dislike Priyanka off screen and usually avoid her in everyday life but I found her the only likeable character in a film where you feel like you missed the beginning, the part that would make the film make sense, the part that makes the characters journeys worth it. Great acting by all but wasted in this shell of a film which took creative liberties galore with historical facts.

Depiction of original war strategy, rich and colourful presentation backed by powerful performance by Deepika.

The movie has extravagant sets, beautiful visuals, great acting and good dialogues but all of it wasted due to the bad pacing and editing. The songs which are the masterpiece of Sanjay Leela Bhansali movies are exquisite to look at but destroyed the movie for me.

First of all let me point out the two positive aspects of this movie which definitely needs to be appreciated..Set decoration (art direction) and costume design is by far the most authentic n best I have seen in an Indian cinema.. Now the negative features...too many to mention actually....140 minutes of big boredom with shabby editing , poor writing , ridiculous chemistry between the leads, unnecessary songs and the worst of all "the hopelessly laughable climactic battle sequence". Another historic character ruined by his very own ancestral legacy (somewhat)
