Magnificently filmed, ingeniously performed by it's three exceptional leads, as well as swiftly executed by Bansali, Bajirao Mastani succeeds at presenting it's tale through lavish set pieces, as well as impeccable costume design, and is bolstered by a brilliant score.

The film hardly moves in the first hour or so, picking up speed only after the intermission -- in fact it seems a little rushed in the second half.

Some of the more interesting Bhansali tropes add to the film's impact and appeal. But it's the trajectory and transformation of the two women that is worth noting.

2015 told us many memorable stories, and one of those was the epic love story of #BajiraoMastani. Seems like SLB has mastered the art of portraying Indian Culture in Cinema. The movie takes Indian cinema to new heights in many aspects (be it Cinematography, Screenplay or Choreography) and easily one of the best films I have seen this last year. Even after the likes of Masaan, Maanjhi, Tamasha and Piku, I secretly wish Ranvir Singh will strike a Filmfare this year. Ranvir Singh now has his first film he will be remembered for in Bollywood. Highly recommended to people who love #IndianHistory or #IndianCinema 4/5

This COLOURFUL film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is loosely based on history with a romantic plot thrust upon its heart. Cinematography is impressive and the acting is passable. Song and dance sequences may at times be non-orthodox. PLOT SUMMARY: Bajirao, a minister under Maratha King Chhatrapati Shahu, loses focus and turns mildly obsessive and insane.
