For once I can't agree with the great Eitan Freedenberg. While this movie could have benefited in a few ways with a different director, Moon is captured beautifully by Jones and is - without a doubt - perfect the way it is. Minimalist and direct, this is a well told story. And, forget about commenting on Rockwell's brilliant and breathtaking performance. It isn't necessary. Seeing (and owning this movie, for me) is.

What do you get when Zowie Bowie is inspired by one of his dad's songs? This movie. The entire time I was watching this the lyrics to Space Oddity kept looping through my head. The movie wasn't just awesome...it was awe-a whole lot of something! "Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles, I'm feeling very still. And I think my spaceship knows which way to go. Tell my wife I love her very much. She knows. Here am I floating round my tin can, far above the Moon. Planet Earth is blue, and there's nothing I can do."

Gerty: They are memory implants, Sam. "The last place you'd ever expect to find yourself" One of the best Sci Fi dramas of all time and probably one of the most bizarre you'll ever see with in my opinion, a Oscar winning performance by Sam Rockwell. The movie mostly takes place in the space station on the moon but when he goes outside the special effects are jaw dropping to look at. Kevin spacey also does a great job as his close friend. The story to may be confusing for some people when the craziest twist happens in such a simple story where he's close to going back to earth since he's been on the moon for 3 years all alone. Physiologically it's very realistic also. This film should've gotten so much more praise in 2009. Believe me the movie is a classic but isn't everybody's type. A very dark marvelous sci film overall and a stunning performance from Rockwell.

A brilliant film with a hauntingly atmospheric soundtrack. I hadn't seen it for some years, but it was on TV last night on HD and was a treat to watch again. Some might find it a little slow to begin with, but stick with it as it's a really intelligent and thought provoking movie. A superb solo performance by Sam Rockwell.

This film is a great redemption of the science fiction genre, thought provoking, beautiful and compelling. After two decades of abusing CGI this film feels refreshing for anyone interested in the intellectual, emotional and philosophical possibilities of science fiction.
