Fine Chinese movie with action, comedy and monsters. Not sure why it was the highest grossing at its timeâ?¦

Tone and plot are all over the place and none of the characters -- monster or otherwise -- have enough depth to make you care about them.

i extremely enjoyed this, it had everything, It made me laugh, It made me cry. It had action/Fantasy/family drama with a love story. i could not wait to see the second. i am totally looking forward to a 3rd movie fingers crossed ;) #baby Groot & Wuba should hang out##AWSOME##

While some of the cultural jokes don't translate well and the tone between light and dark sometimes doesn't hit home, when this movie works well, it really fires on all cylinders. You can't help but feel for cute little Wuba and his likable "parents." A really fun movie that I hope more people can see!
