The film's polar opposites Brosnan and Evans shines with the former (obviously) taking over the main spotlight but the ailing expectation showed ineffectiveness by abrupt senses in the narrative and unevenly occasional action, as well confusing characterization in a some places that could be messed-up. Basically, a post-"Civil War" before "Black Panther" taking the "Taken" route that ended without an impact but rather a small feeling of meaningfulness; in other words, it's an okay film. I'm surprised by the rating on here. I enjoyed it. It is a revenge movie but the story line was not horrible as some other revenge movies.

It was an OK movie. I found the story, even a "thousand times" told interesting. Minus stars for the unsolved part why he doesn't bring his sister "home" and the ending. It seems they went with the stereo type person from SA (most dangerous cities in the world and he has the survival skills to fight gangs in fist fights so he is unpredictable etc. ) and just tried to give the story a twist which didn't work for me.

I'm a sucker for revenge thrillers, essentially all they really have to do is not suck and I'm on board. And Message from the King sure didn't suck. Even if it did, massive bonus points for the kid playing Payday 2.
