a strange and compelling film - genuinely capturing something of the 'otherness' of the ancient world - visually beautiful - and having as a soundtrack tibetan ritual music, Bulgarian and Japanese folk singing - that you might not think would work, but it does...

Story telling especially the scenes in central Turkey are powerful. Attempted realism and construction in the film is a message by itself. Callas fits the part.

Strong movie, more along Bresson's lines where movies are art rather than entertainment. Rituals are raw and strong, Callas impressive and beautiful.

"Medéia" A leitura que Pasolini fez da peça é interessante e inteligente. Cheio de pontos de discusão. Maria Callas consegue ser direta.

Pretty strong film here, from Pasolini: I would have to equate its relevance to the contemporary world with one of the final lines, uttered by Jason - "keep your fleece, eternal symbol of power, at least I discovered that the world is wider than your kingdom, and if you want to know the truth, I think this goatskin, outside its own land, no longer has any meaning".
