Every night while the city sleeps, Ahmad, a former Pakistani rock star turned immigrant, drags his heavy cart along the streets of New York. Man Push Cart is likely too slow to pull in much of an audience, but that's a shame, because it has so much empathy for the plight of the lonely.

Touched by the sight of a Pakistani street vendor towing the titular livelihood on the busy streets of New York City and reminded of Albert Camus's The Myth of Sisyphus, Ramin Bahran's critics' darling at numerous film festivals is a grievous depiction of a man's worthless search for contentment in an absurdly unintelligible world devoid of God and eternal truths.

depressing in a good way. slower paced, reveals the perfect amount of info when necessary. top notch filmmaking. go ramin!

Oh GOD! So depressing! Very well made movie showing the difficulties of a man who has lost his wife, is blamed for the loss by the in-laws who have his son, and is incapable of improving his circumstances to regain control. Utterly sad, but well made.
