Making Contact (1985)

A nine year old boy named Joey, who after the tragic death of his father, begins to experience psychic powers such as allowing him to move inanimate objects with his mind, set things on fire, and even communicate with his dead father. However, not everything is good for Joey as his newly gained powers accidentally awake an evil supernatural force that is contained inside the body of an old ventriloquist's dummy that Joey found in an abandoned house. The supernatural Dummy shows similar powers to Joey's, and soon he puts the lives of everyone near Joey in danger as the evil Dummy has dark plans for Joey's special powers.

It doesn’t make a lick of sense, and all of the supernatural gobbledygook definitely slows things down. But as an early indicator of the director’s ability to conjure forth wide-eyed wonder, Making Contact is a delightful little romp, and at only 79 minutes, it won’t take up too much of your time.

I rented this because I remembered that I saw it as a kid and that it deeply disturbed me. And you know what? It still does. The thing is though, I'm not really sure that that's what it was going for. It's directed like it's some sort of whimsical Spielbergesque children's fantasy, but it really has some pretty disturbing undertones. And a scary looking evil ventriloquist dummy, which alone will automatically add a scare factor to any movie. Thanks for a lifetime of nightmares, Roland Emmerich, You sick bastard!

A possessed ventriloquist dummy torments a child who recently lost his father to death. At first the kid thinks his father is possessing the dummy, but soon he realizes its a demon. He has some super powers which are triggered by the onset of puberty so he battles some monsters and bullies. The kid was way too spoiled and had too many cool toys! Pretty uneven; a too-complicated story, mostly poor special effects and unsympathetic characters make for this to be unmemorable.

All I remeber from this movie is that fucking doll that scared the shit out of me as a kid and till this day i still dont like that fucking doll I honestly dont remeber much about the movie except that the dolls bad and he trys to kill the kid or some shit
