The special effects in this movie are out of this world. When the old lady in the diner jumped up and started crawling on the walls that was wicked.

Before Bettany was a Priest, he was an angel in this end-times movie about God losing faith in man, so much so that He decides to exterminate them. Unlike Priest, this earlier movie (which I watched on HBO a night earlier before this post) was more engaging and it felt complete. The visuals could've use a bit more tinkering, but it works well as it is. And though *spoiler alert* Paul Bettany's revival towards the end was a bit of a DeusExMachina, it was understandable since, well, God was in play at that time. I say let God be God, right? Overall, a solid plot and a good film.

Another early superhero movie before script and character nuances were attended to more in the First Donner Xmen, where Kevin Feige began. Belongs with Kenau Reeves' Constantine as an early super hero movie which at the time was not appreciated for the many things it did exceedingly well.
