Awesome special effects. Weird and wonderful. And Omar Sharif in a western!

Above average star-studded Western that does a good job of sucking a viewer in, and then letting all go south in the overblown final act. The actors make it all watchable, but some ridiculous effects, including rather archaic blue-screen shots and an excessively lengthy and laughably obvious miniature model devastation during the climax, go a long ways to botching the whole experience.

A very strange western that starts off very much in the classic gritty gunfighters mould, but then goes off in tangents of different genre's. When the stellar cast are introduced it is comedic, and by the end we're in the middle of spiritual disaster movie.
