Well it starts off quite well with a good story of gold and people trying to find it. But after the half the supporting cast are no longer in it it gets a bit far-fetched. However there is one twist, which is quite good. Gregory Peck plays his part quite down to earth and he plays it really well. Omar Sharif also plays his part really well throughout the film but there are some points where he goes overboard. Telly Savalas is also excellent in this even though his role is quite short. There are however some really good camera angles in this film and some really good attempts at special effects. Overall a good western but it gets a bit far-fetched in some parts.

Very enjoyable movie with a cast, that is unimaginable nowadays... Gregory Peck, Omar Sharif, Eli Wallach and Telly Savalas, to the last man they're all legends.......the plot is quite interesting and exciting too and the whole movie has a unique style that makes it more pleasurable than anybody would expect......and the scenery is awesome......there is a beauty about dry hills, canyon and green valley......riding a horse through that path can be my dream though not in search of Mackenna's Gold.....
