Lucky You makes the career of a pro poker player seem simultaneously alluring and pathetic; funny and grim; romantic and depressing.

One of the best films of 2007, with great performances by Bana and Duval, this is film about fathers and sons, but also about what a good hand in life is all about.

You don't really need to know about poker to enjoy this movie (I don't!), although I imagine it helps. It's not a typical romantic comedy/drama so anyone expecting that will be disappointed. That said, as a story about one man's attempts to overcome his weaknesses and his past, it works very well. Anyone familiar with "Wonder Boys" in particular will recognise the tone of the movie and some of its themes. It may not be Curtis Hanson's best movie, but it's definitely better than the poor cinema release it received here would indicate.

I enjoyed the movie very much. It had a lot of Poker in it but then again I like poker so that could be the main reason I liked it. My advice to would be if u hate poker don't watch the movie.

I liked it although it was very sdult in some places. It was simple but heavy and when it was funny it really was. I liked that it wa classic and it was the type of film I could enjoy.
