Ex-football star Mike Gambril meets Terry McKay on a flight to Sydney, which is forced to land on a small atoll. They become romantic on board a ship sent to take them to a larger island. They agree to meet in New York three months later to see if the attraction is real. One shows up but the other doesn't. However, a chance meeting brings them together again.

even if this is based on THE An Affair to Remember, it's still a winner for it's soundtrack and cinematography

This one made me cry. Goos actors, great music, hopelessly and meltingly romantic. Stab me again, but I really loved it. I still do.

an absolute classic. am totally amazed with miss bening ... her outstanding performance, her fabulous new hairstyle and her gorgeous dresses. the landscapes are also breathtaking and the music scoring is perfect.

I love this film - so sexy and yet not one sex scene - a rarity these days - doesn't need them, the chemistry between them says it all. The song the children sing is magical.
