Lost Horizon (1937)

British diplomat Robert Conway and a small group of civilians crash-land in the Himalayas, where they are rescued by the inhabitants of the hidden, idyllic valley of Shangri-La. I thought this was a really good film and very atmospheric with the snowy landscape. It's just a shame that I fell asleep towards the end. But that was no reflection on the film. I was just tired!

Boasting great production values, Frank Capra's film is still one of the most cherished fables made during the Depression era.

Great movie. Only drawback is that it's so old. Would love to see a quality remake.

This film IS ME! Capra's best, none of this "it's a wonderful life!" crap, Shangri-La will haunt my dreams forever!

I've got to get this movie. While not normally a big Capra fan, this is unlike anything else Capra ever made: a dreamy Art Deco philosophical masterpiece with lots of twists. An excellent restoration on DVD, it should be seen just to appreciate the fragility of film history and how it can be saved or at least salvaged
