I loved it! Of course some people complain that it's too long, and I agree, so I skipped a couple of the not so important scenes. Other than that, I loved it. The whole idea that there is some mystical village in the mountains of Tibet where there's peace and harmony and no currency! Wow. Who wouldn't want to live there? This movie does focus on some high concepts but even if you don't understand them this movie is cool. My favourite part was the ending, it was brilliant. You must see this movie.

Way ahead of its time in thinking, I guess today it would almost be sci-fi and its premise has been copied, the restored version is bit annoying with the pictures, but if you have seem the short cut then you want more and will end up watching the full lenght anyway. James Redfield watched this movie and made millions by writing books based on its principles. Its Buddhism without Buddah

A real gem. Too bad some of the film (about seven minutes) and sound (about four minutes) are missing in places from back in the day when studios didn't take care to preserve their films.

A touching and richly realized fantasy that somehow avoids drowning in its own sentimentality. It just works, demonstrating Capra's masterful touch with this kind of material.
