Tom Hardy gives one of the best performances of the year (up their with Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler) in Locke. It is 85 minutes of a guy driving around in a car and at no point did I get tired of the gimmick. Remarkable.

Hardy definetly is a heavyweight in acting and he showed it numerious times. Locke was emotionally deep. Some would expect overacting, but Hardy portraied his character magnificently, being cool on the outside while one can imagine what is going on on the inside. The all around atmosphere reminds me a bit of Drive, I'm sure Refn would like it.

For a movie like this, a concept like this i would like to bow down to the director of the movie "Steven Knight", what an unusual concept, directed beautifully, when you have to shoot in a vehicle & you know that the whole would be shot in a vehicle only with a man driving & calling to people, you need to have some concrete script to produce a "Masterpiece" & he did that, pure heartedly. You will see everything in this movie, drama, a light comedy, emotions with brain & yes, most importantly "Great Acting". Tom Hardy is the heartbeat of this movie, every line he says, every expressions he give even every abuses he give is worth looking for & worth applauding for. Th scenes where he is talking to his father on the back seat, even if there is no one on the back seat, is just "Mind-Boggling". You'll just be spell-bounded by those scenes. The other character that is worth mentioning is "Andrew Scott" even with his voice he has done his magic. He is brilliant in his part. Highly Recommended.

Tom Hardy does an amazing job of bringing us through some moving changes as the story progresses. A cool tip I'd recommend is to watch this in a car at night, on a road trip perhaps. Being in a car at night has a certain solidarity that is very personal, and you can feel how powerless he feels at certain moments throughout the movie. All in all a solid time.

I initially didn't like it. But..... I was compelled to watch it again. Amazing movie, I wanted to lead a concrete pouring team after watching this film.
