Lightning Jack (1994)

Lightning Jack Kane is an Australian outlaw in the wild west. During a bungled bank robbery he picks up mute Ben Doyle as a hostage. The two become good friends, with Jack teaching Ben how to rob banks, while they plan Jack's last heist.

A good-natured, if laconic, oater that rides along nicely on the screen persona of writer/actor Paul Hogan.

If you like western or comedy movies, you will probably like "Lightning Jack." Paul Hogan stars as Lightning Jack, a cowboy that is famous for craftily robbing banks. He is one of the most wanted criminals in the country. Cuba Gooding, Jr. is a mute that later tries to team up with Lightning Jack and become a successful robber and cowboy in his own right. That's when the movie gets a lot better and more interesting. It will keep you interested throughout the movie so you can find out if Lightning Jack will remain successful at robbing banks across America or if he'll get caught. The movie also has a lot of funny parts that make it even better. NOTE: That was my Amazon review from the year 2000. This was a nice surprise of a movie at the time and wouldn't mind seeing again.

This is a comedy western starring Paul Hogan as outlaw Lighting Jack. The film also stars Cuba Gooding Jr. as a mute who teams up with Lighting Jack in the film. Paul Hogan and Cuba Gooding both do a fine job in their roles. The story is decent and I did get a few laughs from the film. If you enjoyed Paul Hogan in Crocodile Dundee then I would suggest giving this movie a try. Worth a watch.
