The first movie to ever make me just "wow" at the plot. It scores big with me. Intrigue, romance and thrilling. The tale of just how far an insane woman will go to win. It gets ya.

A glorious technicolored film noir yet with some of the darkest subject matter of the genre. Gene Teirney is just amazing as the cold, possesive villian. The stand out moment in the film is about half way through, involving Teirney's character and her crippled brother-in-law. I won't say too much about it incase to spoil it, but the combination of the tranquil, luscious exterior setting and Teirney's expressionless face makes for one of the most sinister scenes in film.

Pretty solid melodrama. Stunning cinematography.

A bit slow-moving at times, but Gene Tierney was awesome! Starts out a bit cheesy but gets gradually darker and more twisted. Loved Vincent Price in this as the ex-fiance/DA as well. I kinda want to read the book now!

It's amazing that this film was made then i think. The lake scene is chilling. Such a shame she didn't do more.
