Martin was great in this. But this film would have been better if it grew a pair and commented on faith, instead of sitting on the fence.

Holds its own for a while but kinda peters out when the conflicts dont really go anywhere. Note the big difference between users and critics, evidence of the weird balancing act of anti-religious satire and the eventual semi-turn near the end.

Definately Steve Martin's best role...at first glance it seems stupid but when you see it you realize that it is really witty in its portrayal of Revivals.

One of Steve Martin's best performances!

awesome movie on how G-d is in control, even when the "church" does things to tarnish His good name.
