While it succumbs to a lot of clichés that blunt its impact, Lavender shows that there are interesting ways to apply genre elements beyond the bump and chills, and in the service of story about memory, trauma, and resolution.

I thought this was good... Abbie Cornish is endearing, and it has a not-quite-predictable plot where memory is haunting. Suspenseful music and scenery, though some scenes may make you groan, especially a few at the last, ultimately worth the watch.
