Last Passenger (2013)

Independent British thriller starring Dougray Scott and Kara Tointon. Lewis (Scott), an overworked doctor, is on his way home from London with his young son Max (Joshua Kaynama). Clearly exhausted from his work, Lewis decides to take a nap on the train while an attractive young woman (Tointon) watches over his son. When he wakes, all but a few passengers have alighted and he realises that the train is not stopping to let anyone else off. Determined to get to the bottom of the mystery, Lewis goes to investigate and finds that the train has been taken over by an unstable driver who is hellbent on destroying the vehicle along with all the remaining passengers on board.

Like so many late-night journeys, Last Passenger starts out full of promise, but only stops at places we’ve already been.

Above average thriller set on a runaway train. Scott is a decent lead, a serious twitch off Kara Tointon and nobody plays a slimy hateful cunt more than David Schofield. Worth a watch and despite its budget it holds up well.

A thoughtful -- sometimes edge of your seat thriller about a train under the control of someone determined to crash it. What makes it work is the group of six characters including a doctor, an event planner, a magician, an elderly woman, a businessman, and a little boy. Set at night, Last Passenger offers a dark view of a commuter train rushing to its doom.
