Lakeview Terrace (2008)

A young interracial couple has just moved into their California dream home when they become the target of their next-door neighbor, who disapproves of their relationship. A tightly wound LAPD officer has appointed himself the watchdog of the neighborhood. His nightly foot patrols and overly watchful eyes bring comfort to some, but he becomes increasingly aggressive to the newlyweds. These persistent intrusions into their lives cause the couple to fight back.

Kul movie. Samuel L. Jackson was a terrible guy. He made life for those couples HELL on EARTH.

This was a wicked film with a good cast. Samuel L Jackson played an amazing part, it was refreshing to see a different angle on the bad guy. By giving us a peek into his life, then I was drawn to feel sorry for his character. I admit that he was a handful and the way he acted was uncalled for, but when he started to talk about his wife....it kind of made me like him that bit more. Great performances from all. Definately recommend.

Surprisingly effective thriller. Ebert was right. The worst thing about this movie is the advertising. The trailers didn't convey the message of the movie, which made it look really dumb. But it isn't. Well-written, with a slow pace and satisfying ending. Everything might not be Academy Award worthy, but there are no major missteps. The only thing is how comfortable you are with the subject matter, which is race ultimately. Oh, and the cinematography is great.
