a fantastic ending! u may expect alot more, but that's it. simply takes u down to ur soul and leaves u there with a completely diferent self.

Long takes, slow zooms, and deep focus give 'La Belle Noiseuse' a sense of disciplined stillness, all the better to record the meticulous efforts of its two chief subjects as they make art out of life.

I didn't expect to even finish this 4 hour film by Jacques Rivette due what little I knew about the film, but I was pleasantly surprised with how immersive and compelling it really was. The creation of art is detailed excruciatingly thorough, and the result is mesmerizing and important.

I really have to be honest here. I really do not 'get it'. 4 hours - WTF? Really, I watched it because Emanuelle Beart is in her birthday suit for 3/4 of the film. Really. Really. If that makes me shallow, then yes, I am shallow!
