Great to see a film that takes its time (4 hours) in showing detail of the artistic process. The film transcends voyeurism, although I have to admit that a naked Emmanuel Beart is easy on the eye.....; the film is an outstanding work or art in its own right. The dvd I have is in two parts, allowing a 5-minute interval in the film itself, or as in my case - viewing over two sessions.

The only really excellent film I know of about artists and the experience of creating art. And I guess there's a beautiful woman who's nekkid for four hours, or something.

An extraordinary description about the birth of an art piece. Very well constructed and executed. Anyone who is interested in art should take a look at this movie

At times I felt it was literally like watching paint dry, but very absorbing on the whole... felt it provided a good insight into the painful process of a painter finishing his masterpiece and the effect on others. 4 hours tho... it's a two night sitting.

There is more to this than the nudity. There would have to be to keep anyone watching it for the full 4 hours. Actually, this is a very profound reflection on a number of important things - art, love, objectification, the battle of the sexes. Its a remarkable achievement.
