Rick is a screenwriter living in Los Angeles. While successful in his career, his life feels empty. A confusing, far-reaching and plotless personal Malick film.

how did i get here? you see one man answers as best as he can recall, which is not dialogue but key images, phrasees and moments, much as you would recall your own life. really brilliant achievement, but hard work to watch (no releases of tension thorugh comedy, whatever). You need to be willing to work to stay with this film , as art well worth your time. Would love a commentary to identify all the myths and biblical motifs I cant spot.

A truly beautiful and wondrous film. Don't feel bad if you don't get it.

Definitely not a film for everyone and it's not meant to be. But for those of us who worship in Malick's cinematic temple, it rewards our faith.

Knight of Cups (2015) featuring Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman; is actually a great artistically based film though honestly hard to watch if you're tired. I did like the styling of this film and the acting for the most part was good, and of course in some of it the acting good of been done a bit better; but for what the film was it is quite enjoyable. I ended up watching this film three times to make sure how I felt about it, the first time I was very tired and it was extremely hard to keep my eyes open as the movie goes very slow. The second time I sat to watch the film I was fully awake and took in how the director was aiming it; which sort of has that Vanilla Sky feeling to it. The third time was a charm, wide awake and still filled with what I saw in the first two attempts; this film is very artistic and dark. We highly recommend giving this film a chance, and really watch it for the story hidden within. I believe for the most part that they done a great job, I just had hoped for a bit more.
