Delinquent Danny Fisher flunks out of high school, quits his job as a nightclub busboy, and one night gets the chance to perform. Success is imminent and local crime boss Maxie Fields wants to hire him to perform at The Blue Shade. Danny declines, but Fields won't take no for an answer.

One of elvi;s best movies plus great soudtack!

This has one of my favorite Elvis songs, "Trouble". Otherwise, its one of those cheesy Colonel Tom Parker vehicles that he forced Elvis into ultimately leading to his early demise.

definitely one of the better Elvis films. :) I'm a big fan of Elvis so it is nice to see him in something respectable, in contrast to those films of the 60s.

The film does an amazingly good job of doing of leading many to believe that Presley could have been an inspired actor had he not been steered down the river by Hal Wallis and Colonel Tom Parker.

Aside from Flaming Star, a brooding moody Elvis truly showcasing his rare unique talent! Don't be fooled by this poster. This is a meloncholy dark drama, no comedy here and only a few songs! As previously referenced this is in Black and White. Someone replace this poster...it is so misleading!
