For someone who only really appeared on the acting scene two years ago, Dane DeHaan has fashioned quite a name for himself, and his performance here is nothing short of astounding - absolutely the crowning achievement of the film. Radcliffe certainly impresses in his role (couldn't take his American accent seriously, though), but DeHaan is simply a scene stealer in every sense of the word. Other than its actors, Kill Your Darlings has a lot to offer in its story and script department - both are very solid, although each has its boring moments. I wasn't too into all the poetry stuff that the characters were constantly rambling about, but there was usually enough drama going on in the background to keep my eyes on the screen. I guess it was just nice to see that Radcliffe definitely has a career ahead of him outside of the Potter franchise - it's made clear that he's more than capable of carrying a film; I just wish his American accent didn't stand out so much.

Rather than surrender his story to the crime or the courtroom, Krokidas scrutinises the ensemble of friends that galvanised the young men into literary vocations and kept the brooding Kammerer at a distance.

Daniel proves that there is life after potter. He's an great actor and I just hope that cynical critics give him the respect that he deserves as he doesn't lose sight of his love and gift for acting.

Kill Your Darlings is a biopic about the early part of the famed poet Allen Ginsberg. The movie done boast of great performances. But it really took me a while to get into the characters personalities, especially in the case of Daniel Radcliffe and Michael C Hall. However once you get into the feel of the movie, it really does manage to get very interesting to see how the ending pans out, which they show in the beginning by the way. I must say the chemistry between DeHaan and Radcliffe is great and helps in the movie experience. The biggest reason I loved the movie is how they kept pulling away from the regular filmmaking formulae seen in similar movie and keep the surprises rolling in constantly. The editing I must say is incredible. One other weird coincidence I found was how David Cross plays Alan Ginsberg for a period in the Bob Dylan biopic 'I'm Not There' and here he plays the father. Not a big deal but just interesting.
