This film was a pleasant surprise, telling a story of a remote, backwoods community that pays tribute to a strange pit in the woods to ensure their safety and prosperity, until a young woman shirks her duty as sacrifice and causes an escalating series of events for which there is only one solution. Great little film, well worth tracking down. Recommended.

It had a lot of potential, but failed to keep a consistent tone. It reminds me of the original Children of the Corn, but without any real suspense

Intriguing without ever proving insightful, the film nonetheless has a formal patience and meticulousness that sets it apart from its jump-scare-loving mainstream-horror brethren.

We generally judge how a movie will be by how fast the boobs appear - but on this one we hung in there anyway and to be on a shoestring budget it wasn't bad. I still think the pit looked like an outhouse hole.......you'll know what I mean if you see it.
