Good adaptation of the book. Makes you think about certain things. But it can still be subject to a funny evening. Try this: drink a shot each time you recognize a scene or a dialogue that was used for the Metallice clip 'one'.

This movie is somewhat new to me, though I wanted to see it for a long time, and many, many of you people wanted to see it at least in ONE point of your life... every one who watched Metallica's One video. Well, to be honest, I shed a tear every time I watch that video, and to be even more honest, I cried like a little girl throughout most of the feature.Direcor Dalton Trumbo succeeded to convey this very tragic epic and make it a part of your life for at least as the feature rolls. The cast is brilliant for this not-so-known, as my favorite character was Joe's father ,played by magnificent Jason Robards.

This movie is incredibly disturbing. Just the thought of being in Joe's shoes is chilling. If anyone you know thinks war is an honourable and glorious thing... make them watch this movie. This story will turn anyone off to war who sees it.
