The story was well done. It conveyed the complexity and family dynamics based on the expectations of what's perceived to be a "normal" relationship. It also added the personal conflict that's added to the family based on society. I feel the movie did a good job to cast a light on what how lying and keeping secrets can hurt.

Despite its decent intentions, Jenny's Wedding is old-fashioned and simplistic. Its weak plot simply embarks on a timely and controversial topic. While its theme songs punctuate scenes in an irritating fashion, the moving delivery of its actors carries the film throughout.

Writer-director Mary Agnes Donoghue's heart is clearly in the right place... but Jenny's relationship with Kitty is so thinly sketched that it's the stumbling emotional journeys taken by the other members of her family that prove more engaging.
