The terrible and trecherous Pendragon plans to gain the throne of Cornwall by getting the king to abdicate and to marry his lovely daughter. To help him he has his dreadful witches in his castle and his almost unstoppable sorcery. A giant under his control abducts the princess, but on the way home with her the giant meets farming lad Jack who slays him. This is only the beginning.

A good rompy medieval fantasy in the traditional studio manner. There's also some good special effects for the time and budget of this film.

Often seen simply as an attempt to cash in on the success of the movies featuring Ray Harryhausen's special effects, but look again. This film is an all out fantasy. The visual design of the movie is striking and although it seems to throw in a whole mess of different fantasy elements, this keeps you constantly engaged and surprised. Pendragon's ghost/troll army are pretty scary yet kind of psychadelic and trippy at the same time.

It was okay for a little while... but then it just got too wacky for my taste, so I turned the channel. Haha. Cutting edge technology for the time- great work on the monsters and the witches!

Watched and loved it when I was little...and still love it. You'll learn to appreciate special effects, both then & now!
