As a child Jack Brooks witnessed the brutal murder of his family. Now a young man he struggles with a pestering girlfriend, therapy sessions that resolve nothing, and night classes that barely hold his interest. After unleashing an ancient curse, Jack's Professor undergoes a transformation into something not-quite- human, and Jack is forced to confront some old demons... along with a few new ones.

My favorite horror/comedy in recent years. It really does the genre justice by using practical effects in a time when horror movies are laced with bad cgi that just ruins it all. Jon Knautz and his crew clearly love what they're doing here and take a cue from all the great horror films from the 80's. Which by the way is the peak of horror cinema.

On first viewing, I have to admit I came out of the film feeling a bit mixed on the results. But as time as come and past, I've come to enjoy this movie more and more. It's just a fun romp in the vein of monster slaying movies. The plot is simple and effective and has a solid lead character, who has a tragic background. A sequel has been announced. As it stands now, count me in!

I can't decide which two words describe this movie best - "bad ass" or "fuckin' sweet!". Coolest horror movie hero in ages that, if an awesome sequel is made, could almost be the new Ash (Evil Dead series). Lots of fun, a sequel must be made!

This is a perfect starter movie. There need to be more Jack Brooks movies. This one though, most of it was a story build, but it had a good pay off. It is the best horror comedy of its kind since Evil Dead/AoD, thats a fact. Probably one of the 3 best independent horror movies to come out in the last few years (Feast and Hatchet being the other two).

Oh this was mindless fun and worth the watch. It is not even that long so you can even fit another movie in if you fancy it too.
