As a child Jack Brooks witnessed the brutal murder of his family. Now a young man he struggles with a pestering girlfriend, therapy sessions that resolve nothing, and night classes that barely hold his interest. Awesome! I love that they don't use any CGI for creature effects. Trevor Matthews and Robert Englund both do a great job.

i love this film and i'm giving it 5 stars simply because it pisses in the face of CGI, none of that crap here :D this film relies on good ol' fashion costume, make up and prosthetics and it's great to see a film like that being made in this day and age. I can't wait to watch the making of, and the creating of the creature effects special features on the dvd.

I really liked this movie! Captivating characters, good pace, nicemake-up and effects and man... Plumbers haven't been so fucking nice since Mario! I'll wait for a sequel... Sorry Englund can't come back. He's at a really good time, with Killer Pad, Zombie Strippers and this.

JACK BROOKS was exactly what it wanted to be, a cheesy monster movie that kept me entertained. While the comedy could've been a lot sharper, I thought JACK BROOKS was highly enjoyable. Matthews does a great job, and although Brooks seems like an Ash ripoff, I dug his character more. I loved the anger problem he had and the backstory was cool too. Simple, yet effective. The monsters were cheesy but awesome, nice gore, all and all a nice cheesy monster movie you'll enjoy.

An entertaining but overrated comedic horror flick. For low budget genre fare, it's impressively well-crafted and the old school creature effects are really cool. Robert England gives his best performance in quite some time. Ultimately though, there's nothing new here. The characters are really underwritten and everything plays out predictably. Also, the pace is a bit sluggish and nothing really happens until the third act. The action in its finale is pretty fun. Genre fans should find enough stuff here to satisfy.
