As a child Jack Brooks witnessed the brutal murder of his family. Now a young man he struggles with a pestering girlfriend, therapy sessions that resolve nothing, and night classes that barely hold his interest. its a slow going movie for the most part but the last 25 to 30 minutes of the movie was awesome!!! it was gore at its best and not a single CGI monster in site! and having robert englund in it just added to the awesomeness

This was fun to watch. 85 minutes of simple horror thriller gory action goodness from an independent film crew and cast. Done with precision and sharp direction. A delightful casual Saturday Midnight Semi Horror Flick! ^_^

Kind of reminded me of Evil Dead So I totally thought this would be like Matthew Blackheart: Monster Smasher. A kind of goofy comedy. I didn't think it'd be a horror flick and almost passed it up. I mean the name is Monster Slayer... such a weak name. I'm glad I did end up watching it, though. It was totally not what I expected. The creatures looked pretty freaky. The acting was good. The gore/special effects were good. There was a lot more horror and drama than comedy. It was a solid flick. And it has Robert Englund (Freddy) in it, so... yeah, not too shabby. Totally exceeded my expectations. Jack was a bad ass and the end fights were gory enough to make Troma proud.

This is simply a short and fun horror movie. The monster that Robert Englund turns into is awsome. If you're looking for a fun plot, lots of gore, real characters, and a brief flick than Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer is a good fit. "I'll just put on some spandex and sprawl out on the floor with my girlfriend like a beautiful gazelle! I'm fucking cured!".- paraphrasing Jack in therapy.
