Vastly superior to the first Infernal Affairs, this film is quite different from its predecessor - a more intricate story, great character development, and a wonderful music score. A true crime epic in the same vein as The Godfather (there are many parallels between the two films).

Set as a prequel to the first film, Infernal Affairs II is even better and the two "mentor" characters of Inspector Wong and Sam are portrayed so well and it makes the emotional attachments to the first film even greater.

A well-written prequel with excellent direction, slick editing and a dynamic music score. Anthony Wong steals the show as Inspector Wong. While Shawn Yue proves himself as a rising actor while playing a younger Yan.
