A powerful film about the atrocities commited by General "El Jefe" Trujillo during the mid 20th century in the Dominican Republic. The story is heartbreaking for the Mirabal family, but good did come out of what the "butterfly" did for the Dominican people in general.

Nothing special. Marginal acting, and aesthetically it was like looking into a bucket of mud. But it told it's story, and that was the point.

Outsatanding job of Salma Hayek , one of her best performance in a low budget movie, excellente cast in their roles ( specially the women) . It shows the reality of latin american countries , even todays day.
