Lt. Dave Robicheaux, a detective in New Iberia, Louisiana, is trying to link the murder of a local hooker to New Orleans mobster Julie (Baby Feet) Balboni, who is co-producer of a Civil War film. At the same time, after Elrod Sykes, the star of the film, reports finding another corpse in the Atchafalaya Swamp near the movie set, Robicheaux starts another investigation, believing the corpse to be the remains of a black man who he saw being murdered 35 years before.

ces amÃ©ricains ses sont vraiment des incultes ( de toute maniÃ¨re dÃ¨s qu'un europÃ©en rÃ©alise ils ne pigent rien ces producteurs) de priver de projection ce nouveau Tavernier chez eux !!! un vrai bon film d'ambiance (fidÃ¨le au livre qui est par ailleurs envoÃ»tant Ã lire) qui grÃ¢ce Ã une B.O. vÃ©ritable personnage de l'histoire nous emmÃ¨ne dans une Louisianne chaude et dÃ©rangeante Ã souhait (lles images post-Katherina sont d'une simplicitÃ© et d'une cruautÃ© dÃ©concertantes) tommy Lee Jones est taciturne Ã souhait et reprÃ©sente Ã lui seul l'histoire par son malaise et son ambigÃ¼itÃ©... et le dÃ©lire (ou non ?) des sudistes nous fait fleurter avec un fantastique en accord avec cette ambiance...

As a fan of the Dave Robicheaux mysteries by James Lee Burke I wondered whether this movie would live up to the book but I was pleasantly surprised at how faithful it was. It probably won't be a big hit with today's audiences because of the slow movement and lack of action scenes. For me, though, the pace was just right. Besides it was worth it just for the party scene with Buddy Guy.

un film moite et d'ambiance avant d'Ãªtre une histoire alamabiquÃ©e , c'est une honte que ce film soit sorti en dtv sur le sol amÃ©ricain, tant l'ambiance est prenante avec des acteurs parfaits. Lorsque un film comme 17 ans avc les fadasses Matthew Perry et Zac Efron fait un score honorable alors qu'un film de tavernier avec un casting fait de gueule sort en dvd, il y a un truc qui est pas cohÃ©rent , une anomalitÃ©. Ou tout simplement une faute de gout .
