This thriller starts well and has worthy elements -- especially a strong female character, co-created by Dormer herself -- but the plot eventually becomes needlessly stretched-out and convoluted.

If you are in the mood you can see the whole thing but you must do a medium effort and try to go ahead from minute 60. For a Thriller, too slow, for a Mystery, no incentives. It is just a mediocre satire... and you know it!!! 3'5 roundede up.

Oh my this was boring. Natalie Dormer exceptionally good in a terrible movie. The plot was all over the place like a fly on crack and the pace of a slug in slow motion. Did they hype up the sex stuff to cause controvesy because the shower scene was nothing like you hadn't seen before in virtually any other movie of this certificate and the bedroom sex scene was dark and mixed with stupid flashbacks. Also I spotted the actor from celebrity Big brother who coughed all the time. Pretty poor around

In Darkness is very clever in that it plays with your perceptions of what is truly occurring right from the opening scene through to the final shot. It's the story of a blind pianist who is harassed by both the police and sinister types when the occupant of the flat above her dies in suspicious circumstances. The pianist's own past is also slowly revealed through flashbacks throughout the film which again, without revealing any spoilers will change your perceptions of characters and events that have occurred so far in the story. Natalie Dormer was spot on in the lead role and Ed Skrein was ok as the man who maybe helping her or might be behind the whole misfortune that has befallen her. A slow burn but decent mystery thriller.
