Not a very strong sequel. Terry didn't seem like he was in the mode, like in the 1st. On top of that the story was really weak and the ending felt premature. Also, the family he moved in with weren't half the actors as the family fromt he first. Come to think of it, this was alot like the first, but with terrible acting and a watered down story. Let's hope i like the 3rd a little more.

An enjoyable follow-up to the classic original, Stephfather 2 is cheesy from beginning to end and has few memorably horrific moments, yet it still manages to entertain the fan of 80s slasher fare. Often hilarious, frequently dumb, Stepfather 2 is not likely to be appreciated by everyone, but slasher fans will most likely enjoy it if not outright love it.

Generic sequel that go's through the motions, but at least has a competent director and is fast paced. The problem is with the script that is so damn one dimensional. Everyone is either so damn boring or annoying that you know the Stepfather is going to kill them. It is also very contrived opening, but a very fun sequence at the end, when it's the Stepfather's wedding day. The Stepfather isn't given anything new to do though, and the soundtrack is really dated and belongs in Days of our Lives or something. I hated it. Your typical sequel, but at least it has Terry O'Quinn returning. More humor the the first one too, but I don't know if that's a good thing. The scene where Stepfather watches the dating tapes was funny as hell though. I didn't really need a sequel to the Stepfather though.

Terry O'Quinn returns in this sequel 'Stepfather 2: Make Room for Daddy.' A likable psychopath who has escaped from the mental institution he was being held in since his last attempt at getting a family and trying to kill them, it's easy to see why the lonely ladies he encounters fail to notice that underneath his perfect family-man exterior lies a seething murderous rage. He heads to a new town where he meets a woman, with a son, who likes him. They hit it off and he once again thinks that he has the perfect family but several of the local people don't want him to get married! The Stepfather doesn't take too kindly to that, and begins getting rid of everyone who stands in his way.
