A dramatization of one man's rescue of Jewish refugees in the Nazi-occupied city of Lviv. In Darkness tells the true story of Leopold Soha who risks his own life to save a dozen people from certain death. Initially only interested in his own good, the thief and burglar hides Jewish refugees for 14 months in the sewers of the Nazi-occupied town of Lviv (formerly Poland).

Portrayed with gripping tension of ever more draconian choices amidst ebb and flow of human interactions in filthy confines, the cinematography is a staggering tour de force.

This is maybe the most agonizing and prolonging holocaust drama I've ever seen. The last scenarios of this film have the most unforgettable moments of saving the most importance of lives. These people are struggling underground just to survive their own lives and their families. Though some scenes seem so long and become tiring at times. Its a well acted true to life story, and a very well made holocaust drama thanks to these brilliant film makers. Amazing casts, good plot and a well deserved foreign drama to watch.
