Who hasn't seen this movie on a Saturday afternoon with their Grandma? If you haven't seen it GO, watch it right now! A real tear-jerker, but a phenomenal social commentary on racial issues. Juanita Moore is heart wrenching, Lana Turner is stunning, you just wanna' smack Susan Kohner, and Sandra Dee is adorable as always. Mahalia Jackson is the real treat in the end!

As good as the original. Sarah Jane needed a good a$$ beating. I felt more compassion for Colbert (original) character, then the Turner (remake) character. Turner's character was very self-absorded.

A masterpiece of film making. This one will pull at everyone's heart !!! There is an older version but this 1959 film is the best !!!!
