i am in love with this movie... lana turner looks soo beautiful and better than ever and her performance and sndra dee as well...but the real stars of this movie is juanita moore and susan kohner, who gave great perfomances that moved me to tears

I love this movie!!! I cry everytime I see it. It has great lessons that we should learn as people, some of those lessons are: loving yourself, being careful of how you treat people you love and also being happy with our own lives and not wanting to live someone else's.

It has a sad ending, but it's a good movie, it speaks the truth, it may be an older movie, but somethings don't change. People are still ashamed of who they are, and where they're from. A lot of people want to be different. This movie deals a lot with that. I think all generations can identify with this movie in some way or another.

Imitation of Life is sentimental without being sappy. It's also boldly allegorical without being preachy. I'm tempted to say that it was ahead of its time but, by 1959, it was long overdue.

It's an classic that will move you...There's another version but different though.
