Great; but Peola needed a good a$$ beating, and I wouldn't have devulged my grandmother's secret pancake recipe without big compensation.

I've seen the 1959 remake - and though Lana Turner is much more compelling in the role of Lora rather than Claudette Colbert's Bea - I felt that this version gave a much better explination of what the actual "Imitation of Life" was....

I love this movie!!! I cry everytime I see it. It has great lessons that we should learn as people, some of those lessons are: loving yourself, being careful of how you treat people you love and also being happy with our own lives and not wanting to live someone else's.
