Wow... the fact that this movie hasn't gotten higher reviews shows just how much movie critics hate movies released on Net Flix.... this is one of the best of the year.

Mileage will vary in the eyes of many viewers, and some might write it off as a curiosity or a misfire, but in an age where creativity and thoughtfulness are in short supply in genre fare, Hold the Dark is something worth celebrating.

Hold the Dark's plot structure may not always hold up as strong as it should, but it sees Jeremy Saulnier drifting into more thought-provoking material while maintaining the style which has brought him success in the past.

The movie’s great punchline is that he’ll never be able to sort it all out — and we’re right there with him, reeling from a disquieting saga that has no patience for anyone in need easy answers, but keen on leaving us gasping for breath.
