Hector is a quirky psychiatrist who has become increasingly tired of his humdrum life. As he tells his girlfriend, Clara, he feels like a fraud: he hasn't really tasted life, and yet he's offering advice to patients who are just not getting any happier. So Hector decides to break out of his deluded and routine driven life. Armed with buckets of courage and child-like curiosity, he embarks on a global quest in hopes of uncovering the elusive secret formula for true happiness. And so begins a larger than life adventure with riotously funny results.

Well, I loved it. I could also relate to it, as Hector reminds me much of myself. I don't much care for experiencing a range of emotions, but I had no choice while watching this film. I recommend this to anyone looking for a pick-me-up.

One of those movies where you can see the problems with the film (manipulative and cheesy might come to some people's minds) but just don't give a shit. I loved every second of "Hector" and I was pretty much a mess of snot and tears by the end. The movie also has a wonderful look to it. There's a scene that's a standout where Hector faces turbulence in an airplane where the exterior shot of the airplane is done like a puppet show. What's funny is I almost let my rental from iTunes expire. I was down to the last 12 minutes. I'm so glad I was able to get it in. Give the film a look. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
