Hector and the Search for Happiness (2014)

Hector is a quirky psychiatrist who has become increasingly tired of his humdrum life. As he tells his girlfriend, Clara, he feels like a fraud: he hasn't really tasted life, and yet he's offering advice to patients who are just not getting any happier. So Hector decides to break out of his deluded and routine driven life. Armed with buckets of courage and child-like curiosity, he embarks on a global quest in hopes of uncovering the elusive secret formula for true happiness. And so begins a larger than life adventure with riotously funny results.

I rather enjoyed this movie. Mr. Pegg serves his character well, as all the actors did. Was it realistic? Well, why not? It is filled with beautiful scenery, a very diverse collection of peoples, and honest to goodness wisdom. The plot was delivered in a manner that was neither pompas nor simple. Delightfully edgy and light in the same breath. Thank you to all who contributed!

First Simon Pegg movie I actually liked! How in the hell this movie scored so low is beyond me... Wait, not it isn't. A vast amount of people I've encountered have a hard time dealing with real life. They have yet to transcend their egos, which is what Hector played by Simon Pegg is trying to do. He wants to escape the predictable, bland, yet successful life he has created for himself and figure out what truly makes him happy by researching what makes others happy. The animations are quite refreshing because of this movie's penchant for reality. Bravo Simon Pegg and Rosamund Pike!

Nice light comedy about happiness. "Everyone has the obligation to be happy"
