Hawk the Slayer (1980)

Hawk the Slayer, after seeing both his father and bride die at the hands of his malevolent brother, Voltan, sets out for revenge and the chance to live up to his title. Tooling himself up with the "mind-sword" and recruiting a motley band of warriors — a giant, a dwarf, a one-armed man with a machine-crossbow, and an elf with the fastest bow in the land — Hawk leads the battle against Voltan to free the land from the forces of evil and avenge his loved ones.

Epitome of the phrase low-budget romp. Entertaining as long as you don't try to take it at all seriously.

Ok so it may be feature the worst special effects ever but that does not stop this movie being an all time fantasy classic. Long live Hawk!

This is one of the greatest movies ever filmed... They tried SO hard to make this movie so great. With a villian named "VOLTAN" you know you've got a keeper. The robot talking elf, the incredible quick shot camera trick,silly string and neon bouncy balls special effects... and to top it all off... The script is simply immaculate! "I am no messenger boy... but I will give you a message... the message of DEATH!" "VOLTAN! You will DIE... by this sword!" John Terry (Jack from LOST) shows incredible skill as he stares down his opponents for what seems like hours before he wipes them out in sometimes less than a second. I give this movie 5 thumbs way up.

"Better then LotR" says The Knights of the Dinner Table. This is such the B movie that so dearly wants to be more, with classic Jack Palance hamming it up to the most and those non-blinking eyes and cheesey 70/80's techno soundtrack! A "must inflict!" for any true gamer to his friends.
