Hawk the Slayer (1980)

Hawk the Slayer, after seeing both his father and bride die at the hands of his malevolent brother, Voltan, sets out for revenge and the chance to live up to his title. Tooling himself up with the "mind-sword" and recruiting a motley band of warriors — a giant, a dwarf, a one-armed man with a machine-crossbow, and an elf with the fastest bow in the land — Hawk leads the battle against Voltan to free the land from the forces of evil and avenge his loved ones.

If you like cheesy fanatsy, this is the movie for you. 40 Year Old Virgin and 16 Year Old Pothead give this Two Thumbs Up!! Cheesy plot, cheap FX, but worth the time.

It was on this Christmas so I revisited a childhood memory. Most other reviews are correct - it's so bad it's utterly watchable, utterly 80s, utterly English. It's as if they were all told to act badly, the screenplay looks like it was written by an 8 yr old. Rent it, get pissed. I gave it 3 instead of half because you will always want to watch it each christmas.

Terrible film. So terrible in fact that it's wonderful! Full of bad effects and dodgy acting - British low-budget fantasy at its best. Marvelous.
