Paul Thomas Anderson's first feature. The simplicity of Punch Drunk Love with the cool of Boogie Nights. If you haven't seen it, it will still seem familiar.

Paul Thomas Anderson's movie showcases the quiet Philip Baker Hall. It's a "father and son" picture, with a hard edge to it. OK, a very hard edge. Splendid!

I think P. T. Anderson is probably one of the greatest directors of our time, and this is an amazing start. Not to mention, Philip Baker Hall is incredible.

Another great PT Anderson film. Considering it's so hard to find and it was PT's first picture, I wasn't expecting much, but it really surprised me. John C. Reilly's performance was extremely good, and Philip Baker Hall, who I usually can't stand, did extremely well also. This film furthered my obsession with Anderson. It's weird, because I can't really point out one thing that makes this movie great, but when I just think about when I was watching it, I was just euphoric at just how great it was. The fact that there are only really four characters in the film, one of which you don't even see a whole lot, yet the plot still remains interesting, has me at awe.
