Orphan Pip discovers through lawyer Mr. Jaggers that a mysterious benefactor wishes to ensure that he becomes a gentleman. An entertaining view, into the world of Dickens, that may not be completely faithful to its source material but is still bold and thrilling!

This is a very good p.drama the acting is great and the looks are good to. If you like films about the past then you will love this film.

Helena Bonham Carter's Miss Havisham is quite the most fascinating incarnation of this character I've ever seen, and she's matched every step of the way by Ralph Fiennes as Abel Magwitch.

There are better adaptations of this story, but this very enjoyable and worth the time for anyone that loves the story.
